Year 5 Communication
Year 5 information (Summer Term)
Welcome back Year 5 to our final half term. We hope you all had a fantastic Jubilee holiday!
REMINDER: On Thursday 16th June, Year 5 will be taking part in our 'Puberty' talk as stated in the letters handed out before the half term break. A copy is below. If you have any questions about this please feel free to ask or visit our website link on the letter.
CHILDREN ARE TO COME INTO SCHOOL DRESSED IN APPROPRIATE PE KITS ( LONG HAIR TIED BACK and EARRINGS COVERED OR REMOVED) ON THEIR PE DAY ,WITH A WATER BOTTLE. AS THE WEATHER WILL HOPEFULLY BE WARMER, PLEASE CAN YOU ENSURE CHILDREN HAVE APPLIED SUNSCREEN BEFORE SCHOOL.
RISING SUN COUNTRY PARK
We are excited to let you know that we have more visits planned to the Rising Sun Country Park this term. We will send further reminders via parentmail and texts.
On Wednesday 8th June, we created some amazing puppets- look out for pictures soon on here. We also made some brilliant bug hotels after a minibeast hunt in the woodland and finally indulged in a spot of 'Forest bathing'. Thankfully the rain and thunder stayed away and we all thoroughly enjoyed it.
Our next planned visit is Wednesday 29th June.
Expectations are that your child will read their home/school book regularly, practise their weekly spellings and go on TT rockstars for their times tables. Your child will have a log in for TT rockstars- please refer to the Times Tables section.
THIS TERM WE WILL BE HOLDING A READING AND TT ROCKSTARS CHALLENGE! Can you aim to win the half termly prize?
We do practise our spellings and times tables daily in class, if you have any questions please feel free to ask us.
Please read our homework letter below. Every Friday, your child will receive Maths and English 'familiarisation' tasks, where they will have the opportunity to have a 'sneaky peak' at what we will be learning in class the following week. There is no expectation to complete these at home.
Any queries please feel free to ask.
