Year 3

Please see the bike check form that you will need to read over if your child is participating in Bikeability.

It has been lovely to see all of your children’s faces back in school this week. We hope that you had a fun filled summer. Please see some key information below regarding your child’s new class.

Children will have 2 P.E sessions per week. Children will be required to come into school in their PE kit on their P.E days, perhaps one of the only good changes to come from COVID. P.E kit should be black or blue non branded tracksuit, shorts in warmer weather, and a white t-shirt. Please note that outdoor P.E will take place in most weather conditions so appropriate clothing will be required in the colder months.

3BC will have P.E on Monday and Friday.
3CM will have P.E on Wednesday and Friday.

Earnings are not part of school uniform. Any children who have had their ears pierced over the summer holidays will need their earrings covered with tape, thank you.

Lunch payment information and menus can be found under the 'School Menu' tab.

Please take a look at the 'Homework' tab for information on your child's homework.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the Rising Sun Country Park, where we travelled back in time over 5000 years and spent a day in the life of a Stone Age child. We had lots of fun threshing, winnowing and grinding wheat to make flour. We then mixed the flour with water and salt and kneaded it into a dough, before cooking it on an open fire. We then used natural materials that we found in the woods to create different types of shelters that would have been used in the early Stone Age. Later on in the day we had the opportunity to compare the shelters that we created, and would have been used in the early Stone Age period, with a Celtic Hut which would have been used as they evolved. Lastly, we were shown real life artefacts, animal skins and tools. What a fab day had by all. Please take a look at some of our photos below.
