Unfortunately due to forecast high winds the trip to the Rising Sun today has been postponed until the 24th of September. The site manager contacted us to explain that both the den building and cooking on a fire would have to be cancelled, as this was the main focus of the trip we made the decision to change the date.

We have planned a fun day for your child at school including: cave art, watching the Croods, an indoor picnic and Stone Age weapon building. Thank you for your understanding that safety in this instance must come first. Please be reassured all children are having a fun filled day and are not too disappointed.

Thanks for your understanding- please do send any further payments into school as soon as possible.

As part of your child’s topic this term, Stone Age, we will be visiting the Rising Sun Country Park on Tuesday 10th September 2024. Children will have the opportunity to thresh and grind wheat to make flour, cook a flatbread on a campfire, build a shelter and handle tools and replica artifacts that would have been used during the Stone Age.

The cost of this trip is £7.00 Please send this into school. A consent form will need to be signed, which you will find on Parent Mail. If you have any issues logging into Parent Mail, please see your child's class teacher or the office. Please note your child can not leave school without permission.

Your child will be required to bring a packed lunch and a water bottle on the day, or you can indicate that they would like lunch provided from school by filling in the details attached.

On the day children should attend the trip wearing outdoor PE uniform, with suitable coats and footwear for the weather. Please note we will be walking to and from the Rising Sun therefor trainers are advised.

If you are available to help on the day, please indicate your interest to your child’s teacher no later than Friday 6th September. You will be contacted by 3pm on Friday 6th, if we require your assistance. If there is a high interest, names will be picked from a hat and those not successful will be put forward for future trips.

We will leave school at 9.15 am and return before 3.00 pm.
