Autumn Term 2018
Welcome to Year One
All of the children have settled in well to Year 1. During the first half term children will continue to learn through play while accessing the Year 1 curriculum through small group work.
In maths we are focussing on numbers to 10; counting forwards and backwards from any number and comparing amounts using greater than, less than and equal to.
In English we are looking at stories with a familiar setting. The children will begin to look at sentence structure. They will begin to use capital letters and full stops as well as adjectives and conjunctions to improve their sentences.
Please continue to check our Year 1 page for regular updates!

Year 1 Self-Portraits
Year 1 had lots of fun creating their self-portraits using a range of materials! Can you spot your portrait?
Local Area Walk
We had lots of fun on our local area walk. Children were able to identify features of their local area.
Year 1 had a fantastic day at Whitehouse Farm. Children started the day off with a tractor ride followed by a Nativity show. We then visited, fed and held a number of different animals. We also had the opportunity to visit Santa in his grotto.
