Maths Tasks and Resources

This week we will all be focusing on time. Time is taught in every year group and your child should have covered o'clock, half-past, quarter-to and quarter-past. Most children are very good at telling the digital time as a consequence of spending time on computers, iPads etc, however not so good at the analogue clock. The focus in Year 3 and 4 is to be able to tell the time to the nearest 5 minutes, progressing onto the minute. Monday and Tuesday's task are self-led. Please be as adventurous as possible, walk to the nearest bus stop and learn how to read the timetable etc.

Year 3/4 Task - 11.05.20

Create a analogue clock with movable hands. You will need to use this as a resource for the remainder of the week.

Year 3/4 Task - 12.05.20

Ask your adult to test you on different variations of o'clock, half-past, quarter-to and quarter-past.

Year 3

For the next 4 weeks we are going to be looking at fractions. This is something that your child will have covered in Y2, however, we have not yet touched upon it in Y3. White Rose have an amazing scheme of learning available that we are going to follow for the next 4 weeks. They provide daily videos which explain the skills needed to complete the activity. Unfortunately, I can't download the videos and upload to the website, however I can direct you to the right place. Please follow the link below. It should take you to a Y3 Home Learning page. If you then click under 'Week 1' you will be able to see 5 videos, one for Monday-Friday, which will link directly to the worksheet that I am uploading for that day. If you have any issues please send me an email: becky.cowen@ntlp.org.uk
Please note, that as of next week, I will be back in school so replies may not be imminent.
