When children come home at the end of the day
the question they're asked as they run out to play,
is "What did you do at nursery today?"
And the answer they give makes you sigh with dismay,
"Nothing, I did Nothing today!"
Perhaps 'Nothing' means that I read a book,
Or... with a teacher I got to cook.
Maybe I painted a picture of blue,
or made a collage with glitter and glue.
Maybe I built a tower myself,
Or found a great book on the library shelf.
Maybe I helped a friend today,
or was involved in a really great role-play.
Maybe today was the very first time,
that my scissors cut in a straight line.
Perhaps I sang a song till the end,
or made a new very special friend.
When you are three or four your heart has wings,
and "Nothing" can mean so many things.
Autumn Term 2
This half term we have been learning all about Autumn . We enjoyed a walk around Wallsend Park looking at the changes that happen at this time of year. We used our senses to sort, classify, investigate, count, paint, talk about and draw things we saw and found.
Summer Term 1
Our topic this half term has been 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to find them.'
We watched as our tiny caterpillars grew and changed into butterflies and the frog spawn hatched into tadpoles and got bigger and fatter. Animal Antics brought in a great selection of Mini Beasts for us to look at and hold, we were very brave!
 Spring Term 1
We have been learning about 'People Who Help Us' and we had exciting visits from both the Police and our friendly lolly pop man.
Spring Term 2
We have been learning about Traditional Tales and listened to a whole selection of different fairy tales. We had a fantastic trip to the Rising Sun Country Park where we helped to find the lost bears and build them new homes to keep them safe and dry. It was great fun making and tasting porridge around the campfire to feed The Three Bears.
